CNN did a fascinating trick with holograms. During the election coverage last night, CNN's Wolf Blitzer beamed in (or beamed up, perhaps?) reporter Jessica Yellin from Chicago for a face-to-face conversation.
Basically they couldn't "see" each other in 3-D but it surely looked real.
This made me think how absolutely perfect this technology is for so many women who often have to be at so many places at once.
Just imagine if you could do any of these things below without actually being there:
-
Intimate moments (à la Wolf Blitzer)
-
A real blind date
-
Breaking up with your significant other
-
Quality face time with your kids (hugging is obviously not doable)
-
Being in the office on a Friday
-
Employee evaluations
-
Doing your share of the chores
-
Being served by a process server
-
Dinner at the in-laws
-
Standing in line at Motor Vehicle Administration (you can show up to get your number, go shopping, and return just as it's your turn)
Any other ideas?
